About the Artist

Kate Beck uses Shibori dying, felting, and printmaking to create unique pieces full of power and beauty. There is something special in knowing that each piece is one-of-a-kind. She uses nature to craft unusual and exotic surfaces that evoke vitality and life. Like her ever-changing environment, Beck’s work constantly evolves and expands.

Beck’s original inspiration came from her home in Portland, Oregon. She studied textile, printmaking and fiber arts at University of Washington. Her craft has taken her to international art shows since 1989. Today, you can find Kate in her Marigny studio in New Orleans, just outside the French Quarter.
